"THE UNHAPPY GIANT"
"THE UNHAPPY GIANT"
Once upon a time there was a very unhap
py giant. His name is Shrek. He lives alone in his house. He hasn´t got any friends and he is always crying because he can´t play with anybody. The giant is very big. He has got very big hands, very big arms and legs. His eyes and ears are very big too like his feet, mouth, nose and fingers. So he is afraid to damage people and he doesn´t play with anybody. Poor Shrek!

One day, some children hear the giant crying. They decide to ask him why he is crying: “What´s happen giant? Why are you crying?“ “Ay, ay, ay” Cried Shrek. “ I haven´t got any friends. I´m so big that anybody wants to play with me” Poor Shrek, the children feel very sad and they don´t know what to do to help him.
So the children take the goblin to the Shrek´s house. “Shrek, Shrek!” called the children. The goblin starts to talk: “Hello, Shrek. I´m a magical goblin and I´m going to help you. But you have to laugh, smile and be happy, and every time you smile I´ll make your new friend´s body and you´ll be very happy because you´ll play with a big friend, big like you.
The giant is very surprised and happy at the same time. The children make a lot of things to make the giant laugh and smile. They play for him, they sing, they dance… and they make Shrek start to smile and smile…
And Shrek laughs and laughs and the goblin makes a head. Later the goblin makes some eyes and the giant smile and the goblin makes a mouth and a nose and some ears. Every smile of Shrek the goblin makes two arms, two hands, and a body and later he makes two legs and two feet and…SURPRISE. THE GOBLIN HAS MADE A BID FRIEND FOR SHREK. Do you like him?
Now Shrek has a friend like him. They can play together. The giant says thank you to the goblin and to the children and Shrek´s mouth shows a very big smile ever after.

STORY OF ANIMALS
Once upon a time down on an old farm, lived a duck family, and Mother Duck had been sitting on a clutch of new eggs. One nice morning, the eggs hatched and out popped six chirpy ducklings.
But one egg was bigger than the rest, and it didn´t hatch. Before she had time to think about it, the last egg hatched.
A strange looking duckling with gray feathers that should have been yellow gazed at a worried mother. The ducklings grew quickly, but Mother Duck had a secret worry.
- "I can´t understand how this ugly duckling can be one of mine!" she said to herself
Well, the gray duckling certainly wasn´t pretty. As the days went by, the poor ugly duckling became more and more unhappy because his brothers didn´t want to play with him.
He felt sad and lonely. He secretly wept at night. He felt nobody wanted him.
-"Nobody loves me, they all tease me! Why am I different from my brothers?"
Then one day, at sunrise, he ran away from the farmyard. He stopped at a pond and began to question all the other birds.
-"Do you know of any ducklings with grey feathers like mine?"
But everyone shook their heads in scorn.
- "We don´t know anyone as ugly as you."
The ugly duckling did not lose heart, however, and kept on making inquiries.
He fled as far away as he could, and at dawn, he found himself in a thick bed of reeds.
-"If nobody wants me, I´ll hid here forever."
There was plenty a food, and the duckling began to feel a little happier, though he was lonely.
One day at sunrise, he saw on a pond a group of beautiful birds. White, with long slender necks, yellow beaks and large wings.
- "If only I could look like them, just for a day!" said the duckling, admiringly.
Finally he got the courage to fly to the pond, where the beautiful birds were swimming. That was when the duckling saw himself mirrored in the water.
- "Goodness! How I´ve changed! I hardly recognize myself!"
When the beautilf birds saw him, they realized he was one of their kind, and soon made friends.
-"We´re swans like you!" they said, warmly.
-"Where have you been hiding?"
-"It´s a long story," replied the young swan, still astounded.
Now, he swam majestically with his fellow swans.
One day, he heard children on the river bank exclaim: "Look at that young swan! He´s the finest of them all!" And he almost burst with happiness.
